I got the invitation link to download Visa Beta 2. SInce last 2 days it says
" Thank you for your interest in Windows Vista Beta 2. We are currently experiencing a high level of demand and cannot process your request at this time.
Please check back later for availability. We apologize for any inconvenience."
can their IIS unable to handle high volume??? its a good stress test....

Visa Beta 2 Download
Yeah, if 2 million persons try to download at the same time, that is like MS doing a Denial of Service Attack on their own servers. Don't worry, the beta won't be going vacation until June 2007, so you have lots of time to download. :) -- -- Andre Windows Connected | http://www.windowsconnected.com Extended64 | http://www.extended64.com Blog | http://www.extended64.com/blogs/andre http://spaces.msn.com/members/adacosta

In the long night (GMT time) of Wednesday/Thursday, I experienced the very slow download of Vista Beta 2 (ENU) which lasted for about eight hours... as in many cases reported in this group.
Afterwards, I suffered from the 'high level of demand' like yourself... until about two hours ago, when I suddenly grasped a 'slot' on the Vista server and happily experienced a short download (about 1 1/2 hrs only) of Beta 2 (DEU).
Again, I let my NEC DVD writer with Nero 6 burn the Vista image on a quality DVD - but slowly (x2 instead of x16) as advised in this group.
Meanwhile, I have two Vista Beta 2 installations (dual boot with XP),
- one is fine, on an Asrock K8S8X with Sempron 2800+ and 2x256 MB Infineon RAM, Maxtor PATA HDD, and a Matrox G400 32 MB:-)
- the other one is not so 'smooth', on an Asus P4V800D-X with P4 2.4C, Seagate SATA HDD, and 2x512 MB TwinMOS (Winbond) RAM; tried a PNY Quadro NVS280 64 MB AGP and a Sapphire Radeon 9800 Pro 128 MB AGP (the latter allowing for Areo/Glass), but not satisfactory (desktop icons unstable...).
I look forward to install the German language version of Vista Beta 2 on an Asus K8N-E Deluxe with Athlon 64 3000+, Hitachi SATA2 HDD, and 1 GB MDT RAM, with various display adapters...
